主要研究方向：现阶段的研究兴趣主要在于感知、学习、通讯以及计算的深度融合，包括智能物联网、智能感知、智能无人系统的感知、智能家居、智慧医疗、5G时代的新智能系统，涵盖智能硬件、智能算法、智能计算架构。

   1997年获得中国科学技术大学计算机科学与技术专业本科，2002年获得美国宾州州立大学（Penn State University）计算机科学与工程专业博士。从2002年起在美国罗格斯-新泽西州立大学(Rutgers University)电子与计算机工程系任教，2008年获得终身制，晋升为副教授，2015年晋升为正教授。从2018年7月全职回到中科大计算机科学与技术学院任教。已在相关国际期刊及会议发表文章140余篇，包括多个CCF A类期刊及会议。现（曾）任多个期刊的编委，包括IEEE/ACM ToN, IEEE TMC, IEEE TSC, Elsevier Smart Health等。担任了十余次IEEE和ACM国际学术会议组织委员会的不同职位，并被长期邀请担任多个重要国际学术会议的程序委员会委员。2017年被评选为IEEE Fellow。
